  • As long-standing advisors to the business, we were approached by the owners during early-stage exit planning to help them unlock additional enterprise value—beyond what was visible in the P&L. Our role was to provide an external perspective and help surface opportunities that would materially enhance the strategic attractiveness of the business to potential acquirers.

  • While conducting a competitive landscape assessment, we initiated a comprehensive strategic review across the organisation. Through close collaboration with leaders across all functional areas, we identified a number of high-impact opportunities to strengthen the business’s long-term value. These included improving operational efficiency, elevating audience engagement through digital and communications channels, and critically, repositioning the brand in a way that aligned with emerging market needs.

    Our most powerful insight was the opportunity to reposition the business not just within the market for temporary car insurance, but to define it. By reframing the company’s proposition around the enduring assets of the brand and its capability to lead in a fast-evolving category, we created a compelling narrative for sustainable growth and market leadership. This repositioning provided clear strategic differentiation and a platform for long-term value creation.

  • The owners proceeded with the trade sale, and the outcome significantly exceeded expectations: the business achieved a valuation nearly double initial estimates. This uplift reflected the acquirer’s confidence in the business’s strengthened positioning, growth trajectory, and ability to capture increased market share.
